Rules and Regulations
Classes and prizes:
1. Best Float adult 1st £150 2nd £100
2. Best Float children 1st £150 2nd £100
3. Best Walker/s 1st £30 2nd £20
The Chamber of Trade trophy will be awarded to the Best float.
The Porthcawl Round Table Rose Bowl will be awarded to the best endeavour.
Please refrain from launching projectiles or water from the floats.
No alcohol is to be consumed on the floats.
We reserve the right to remove floats from the procession
Conditions of entry
1. Entries The carnival committee reserves the right, in it's absolute discretion, to allow any entry in any class.
2. Control The carnival committee accepts no responsibility for accident, damage or loss sustained as a result of the Carnival. It must be strictly understood that the control of entries, marshalling etc. is vested in the Committee or their representatives and all entrants must act in accordance with their directives.
3. Judges The awards and decisions for all classes made by the judges shall be final and no protest, either verbal or in writing will be considered.
4. Prizes The Committee reserves the right to reduce the number and amount of prizes if in their opinion, there are insufficient entries in a category.
5.Dispersal No entry may leave the procession unless permission is granted by a member of the Committee or their representatives.
6. Inclement weather Although the Committee will make every effort to notify entrants if the procession is cancelled due to inclement weather, they reserve the right to cancel without prior notice.
It is co-operation with these points that makes a successful carnival for entrants, organisers and spectators alike.
